SMARTIC

Smart Innovation and Creativity Cluster

The M2C Institute for Applied Media Science and Culture links the countries participating in SMARTIC from Central, Eastern Europe (CEE), South Eastern Europe (SEE), the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) and Germany. Innovation and knowledge building are important factors for the future of societies. In a changing world, the SMARTIC partners want the participating countries to become a smart, sustainable and inclusive economy.

The worldwide importance of international co-operation and networking in applied research, development and education increases as a basic foundation of cultural, economic and social development within European and national structures. Nowadays sustainable development means to care about social aspects, learning and environment in all areas of research and business from technical industries, infrastructure, services and logistics forwards to resource exploration, pollution and green energy sourcing. In the SMARTIC network, the partners share their knowledge and experience according to the common goal to develop and to guide new co-operation projects in areas of research, business, development, sustainability, energy, infrastructure, creative industries, automobile industry and culture. The SMARTIC partners jointly identify and close gaps in their development of cooperation, especially those which hinder or even prevent effective, innovative collaborations and the increasingly interdisciplinary identification of potential for innovation and common R&D work.

A central objective of the network is to co-operate in the design of new applied research projects, the preparation of applications within the thematic priorities of the Seventh Research Framework and other programmes, expertise transfer, and the mediation and optimization of co-operations between partners from research, industry, SME, government, education and NGO. Therein intercultural and virtual team management, training and process moderation are essential key aspects for successful co-operations and sustainable development in all areas.

Measures for success for to foster innovation and creativity within modern organizational development are diversity, intercultural management and sustainability by acceptance. For this purpose knowledge based projects on European level must be developed. In SMARTIC R&D for innovative technical tools and new services in connection with professional training and learning will be investigated and developed.
